The short version

1. Who this policy covers

PassionPlay ("the app", "we", "our") is a pass-and-play card game for couples on Android and iOS. Two or more players take turns drawing cards across three stages, passing one phone between them. This policy explains what information the app stores on your device, what a third-party advertising SDK accesses on our behalf, and your choices. The app has no server or backend of its own โ€” the only outside party involved is Google, through the AdMob SDK described in Section 4.

2. Information the app accesses

Everything below is created by you when you set up and play a game, and is written to app-private storage on your device. None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party โ€” the app itself makes no network connections whatsoever, and the only traffic it generates is the ad requests described in Section 4, which carry nothing from this table.

DataWhy it's collectedWhere it's stored
Player namesEntered during setup and displayed during play so it's clear whose turn it is.Saved on your device alongside the rest of the game, so you can close the app and resume the same session later.
Game progressWhich stage you're on, how far into it you are, the shuffled order of that stage's cards, and whose turn comes next โ€” everything needed to resume where you left off.The same local save as above. Cleared automatically when a game finishes, or when you discard it from the setup screen.
Language choiceRemembered so the app opens in the language you picked instead of asking on every launch.Local device storage on your device only.
18+ confirmationWhether you have already confirmed you are 18 or older, so the age screen isn't shown again every launch.Local device storage on your device only.
Ad counterA count of how many cards have been revealed since the last ad, used to decide when the next one appears.Stored with the local game save; see Section 4.
Card decks and app textThe questions, dares, and interface wording in both supported languages.Bundled into the app install itself โ€” this is app content, not user data, and it never changes based on anything you do.

3. Device permissions we ask for

PermissionPurpose
InternetUsed only to request and display ads. Setting up a game, drawing cards, resuming a saved game, and everything else the app does work with no connection at all.
VibrationA brief haptic tap when a card is revealed.
Advertising IDAccessed by the Google AdMob SDK to request and measure ads โ€” see Section 4.

You can grant or revoke these from your device's system settings. The app never asks for camera, microphone, location, contacts, or access to your photos. Its Android build additionally declares a screen-overlay permission and two legacy external-storage permissions that come from the React Native framework the app is built on; PassionPlay never exercises them and reads or writes nothing outside its own private storage.

4. Advertising & third-party SDKs

PassionPlay is free and funded by advertising rather than a purchase price or a subscription. Ads are full-screen interstitials shown between cards, roughly every five to eight card reveals. They are not tied to any reward, coin, or currency, and dismissing one returns you straight to the game โ€” there is nothing in the app you can only unlock by watching an ad.

Ads are served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising SDK we embed but don't control. The app requests non-personalized ads only, which tells Google not to use an advertising profile to target what you are shown. Even so, to request, deliver, and measure ads at all, Google's SDK can access and process:

None of this ad-related data is collected, stored, or seen by us directly โ€” it is handled entirely inside Google's SDK under Google's own privacy policy, available atpolicies.google.com/privacy.

On Android, you can limit how this identifier is used at any time from your device's system settings, under Settings โ†’ Privacy โ†’ Ads, where Android lets you reset your advertising ID or delete it entirely. On iOS, the app does not ask for permission to track you, and iOS withholds the advertising identifier from any app that has not asked โ€” so no iOS advertising identifier is available to the SDK.

Aside from AdMob, the app uses no other third-party SDKs, no analytics, and no crash-reporting service. Your player names, game progress, language choice, and age confirmation are never sent to Google or to anyone else โ€” that data stays on your device as described in Section 2.

5. What we don't do

6. Mature content & age gate

PassionPlay is an adult game intended only for players aged 18 or older. Its cards are arranged into three stages โ€” Hardtalk, Prelude, and Hardcore โ€” each more explicit than the one before, covering intimate questions and dares written for couples. Before the app can be used at all it shows a one-time screen asking you to confirm you are 18 or older; answering that you are under 18 blocks access, and the confirmation is remembered on your device as described in Section 2 so it isn't asked again.

Cards also display a penalty measured in shots, for players who would rather decline than answer. The app enforces nothing and records nothing about this: declining any card is always allowed, with or without drinking, and the app's own rules screen says so alongside a note on drinking responsibly.

7. Data retention & deletion

Everything the app stores lives on your device only, for as long as the app is installed. You can remove it at any time by:

We hold no account and no server-side data about you, so there is nothing for you to request deletion of from us and no process for doing so โ€” the controls above are the complete set.

One note specific to Android: the app allows the operating system's standard automatic backup, so a saved game and your preferences may be included in a device backup held in your own Google account, under your own Google settings. That backup belongs to you, not to us, and we have no access to it.

8. Security

Because all data stays within your device's app-sandboxed storage, it is protected by your operating system's standard app-sandboxing and, where enabled, device-level encryption. The app stores no passwords, payment details, or contact information โ€” the most sensitive thing it holds is the player names you type in.

Worth stating plainly rather than leaving you to assume otherwise: the saved game is ordinary unencrypted data inside the app's private storage. That is enough to keep it away from other apps on the device, but someone with root access to your phone, or with an extracted device backup, could read the player names and how far through a game you had gone. As with any app, we recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a device passcode.

9. Changes to this policy

If PassionPlay's data practices change in the future โ€” for example if a new online feature, analytics service, or additional third-party SDK is added, or if the app begins asking for iOS tracking permission โ€” this policy will be updated and the effective date above will change accordingly. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Questions about this policy or the app's data practices can be sent toavtukalaz@gmail.com.

PassionPlay is a pass-and-play party game whose only data collection beyond your own device happens inside the embedded Google AdMob SDK, as described in Section 4. This policy describes the app's actual behavior as implemented; it is provided as a starting point and has not been reviewed by a lawyer โ€” consider a legal review before publishing to an app store, especially given the adult content and the alcohol-related penalties described in Section 6.
